On Monday night i was invited to talk to the Southwest Airfields members and members of the public at B24 at Dunkeswell aerodrome. Steve Parsons organised the event and it was good to catch up with some old friends again. The talk was on the Home Guard focussing on the units in East Devon during WWII. Steve had set up some of his Home Guard equipment collection, including a mannequin with the great coat, FS cap and webbing of a guardsman from Luppitt platoon which had been recently found in a loft. Steve had painstakingly cleaned and repaired the equipment and it looked great stood to attention in the room.Plenty of questions at the end and a good chat to Steve on the way home made for a very pleasurable evening for me!
