Exeter Cathedral have asked us to perform this year, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Exeter Blitz of 4th May 1942. We will be taking some artefacts from this devastating chapter in Exeter's history with us to the event which is on Saturday 5th May 2012. We will also be taking our own archives of information and some of the new eyewitness testimony given by people who still remember being in the city during it's many bombings. It is important to remember the attack on the city on the night of 4th May was just one attack out of many. We are trying to make sure that all the bombings are remembered and that the history of the attacks does not get blurred into one single event. We are performing walk-a-bout sets during the course of the day featuring British Home Front songs and at 3.00 p.m. we will be performing a set of more gentle songs in Exeter Cathedral itself. Please come along and don't be scared to ask us questions about the uniforms and equipment, many items of which were actually in Exeter at the time of the raids.
Hope to see you there!
