Exmouth holds it annual Service of Remembrance on Sunday 13th November 2011. After the service i'll be in Spoken Cafe / Bar Exmouth, on the Strand opposite the War Memorial, with my new database that i've been working on for several years now. I'm making it available to members of the public who are trying to trace what their ancestors, (who lived in Exmouth and the surrounding area during WWII)did during the war years. The database is still going together but there are around 2,000 names on it already and it is growing daily. I'm hoping that i'll be able to add more information as people bring in more names and information on the day and in the subsequent years. if you are interested in trying to trace your ancestors activities please just turn up on the day after the Service of Remembrance, we'll be pleased to see you. Hopefully John Dyer will be coming along to take a few photos and also Paul (Chester Drawers) will also be around giving away his "special" WWII contraband to youngsters who attend the service. Who knows there may even be a song or two!
