PHOTO SESSION FOR THE ARP BOOK
John Dyer and I were in the studio photographing A.R.P. equipment on Friday 3rd June. We had the help of "Roger Sleeman" the 1930's head for displaying hats again. Last night he was modelling helmets, hats and gasmasks. Because of the hot weather we were soon worn out by all of the "unpleasant bending" when positioning the articles, we had a lot of fun though and as usual, John came up with some fantastic shots with his Nikon. It really is great to have proper studio facilities these days and one day we will get round to changing most of the photos on the main website. We had Jim Dyer John's Dad in for "questioning" several times over the last few weeks about Exeter Blitz May 4th-5th 1942. He was an A.R.P. messenger boy during the raids and has been giving us his testimony and been helping name people on some of the old photos we have been restoring. We'll post up a couple of photos soon on a new page on the site so you can have a look, so watch this space!
